Weekend Wrap - Blade Runner, Tanith, & Boba's Helmet

Well, it's that time of the week again.  Time to relax, or in my case try to get a bunch done on the weekend.  Busy week this week, wanted to share some on the Vikings I've been working on and get "Wednesday War Movies" launched, but it was not to be.  Did manage to spot a few interesting things during the week, so without further ado, here they are.

Blade Runner 2

Blade Runner 2, is Harrison still up for it?

First off is the news that Blade Runner 2 is in the works and ready to move on to production.  With this is the announcement that Alcon Entertainment has invited Harrison Ford to reprise his role as Rick Deckard.  (Sources HERE & HERE)  This story is set several decades after the original left off in 2019 and Ridley Scott is expected to direct again.

The original Blade Runner is definitely near the top of my personal favorite movies, and Harrison Ford appears in more than a few of my other favorites (Star Wars, Indiana Jones).  However, Mr. Ford is about to turn 72 and there are mixed messages out there if he'd be interested anyway.  It's well known that Ford hated making the first one and didn't really see eye to eye with director Scott, but we're far removed from those days.  I mainly wonder what the role would be like since Scott has since admitted that Ford's character Rick Deckard was really a replicant.  I guess we'll see...

Dave Taylor's Tanith

Gol Kolea's Platoon, Tanith First and Only by Dave Taylor

I'm a big Imperial Guard fan for Warhammer 40k.  I love my Mordians, but also love all the diverse possibilities for different IG regiments and worlds and the background fluff behind each.  As mentioned on this blog before I'm also a fan of Dan Abnett's Gaunt's Ghosts series of novel featuring Colonel-Commissar Gaunt and the Tanith First and only IG regiment.

Those of you that are familiar with Dave Taylor's modeling and painting talents, knew that many of his projects are definitely worthy of passing along or just staring at in awe.  Combine that with his custom converted Tanith IG force, and you get something I just had to share.  I believe this is actually a long term commission project, but the related posts have been more frequent lately.  Incredible work, and all the related project post can be found HERE.

Victoria Miniatures

While we're on the subject of the Tanith and IG, I'd like to give Victoria Miniatures a mention as well.  Sculpted by the very talented Victoria Lamb, she has a wide variety of IG compatible figs and conversion bits including her "Border World Rangers" version of Tanith and even some lovely female sculpts like her  new "Arcadia" troopers pictured above.

Boba's Helmet(s)

More than you ever wanted to know about Boba's helmet(s).

Six helmets were originally made back in the day for the character Boba Fett (or the "Super Trooper" project).  If you ever found yourself laying awake at night wondering what ever became of those original six, worry no more.  Members of The Dented Helmet have created the graphic above (that I found HERE) to chronicle all the details for you.

New Swag!

Finally, as seen in the pics above I received some nice new things & stuff in mail this week thanks to Warlord Games and eBay.  Not going to share any further details at this time, but hopefully you'll start seeing some of these new toys pop up on the blog in the near future.  :-)

  1. Wow Bladerunner 2 now there is a film I would love to watch

    1. Despite my misgivings, it should be a good flick!
